A note about the monthly bring and share picnic and music group.

This coming Sunday is our usual bring and share picnic followed by the monthly Music Group, to which all are welcome. Marianna writes:

“Don’t think you can sing? But you still have a voice!” . . . and this week we’ll be singing through a haiku:

“Go into the world
with a daring and tender love –
the world is waiting.”

A note about the Poetry Group and Music Group from Marianna

The new Poetry Group met last week and plans to meet again on the last Wednesday of August. Marianna writes:

“I’m happy to say that four of us met at my flat this afternoon and held a successful poetry session. Elden led our opening words and chalice-lighting. Half of the poems were of our own writing. Jennifer was able to read two sonnets written by her father, written about Jennifer when she was a girl, and a second when she and husband Alan were about to emigrate by ship to America. Elden included a poem of his own, and Joy and I both included some of our own writing. We agreed that this was an occasion where we held a common understanding of our place within all life, and the first three poems chosen all turned out to be about ‘wings.’”

And Marianna also notes that the current music group is not really working out and writes:

“For various good reasons, over the past year we have only met about six times, rather than monthly. Please feel welcome to suggest any alternative musical activity, day/time, location. And remember that vocalising is healthy in so many ways.”
