The good news is that this Sunday at 10.30am promptly we meet face-to-face in the church for the first service since 15th March 2020. The service will, of course, continue to be streamed live on Zoom. For the time being please bring and wear a mask. As more information becomes available about the behaviour of the virus as the autumn and winter proceeds we will, of course, change our practice accordingly.
The new morning service (developed following two full and lengthy Zoom consultation meetings with those members of the congregation who wished to be involved the preparation for reopening) fully preserves the integrity of the service of Mindful Meditation (our old evening service) whilst adding certain favoured elements from the old form of morning service, namely, two hymns (one at the beginning and one at the end), the notices and the tradition (i.e. a reminder of notable dates in the history of our liberal religious tradition). Please note there will no longer be an address but there will be a very brief reading/weekly reflection in the middle of the service from whomsoever is the the service leader and, at the end of the service, as and when there are volunteers, there is an opportunity for a member of the congregation to contribute a five minute “thought for the day.”
The full order of service can be seen and/or downloaded at the following link:
The old order of service for the mindful meditation will still suffice if you don’t want to print out a new copy but you will be missing the new beginning and end sections.
I very much look forward to seeing you in person or online this Sunday.
Love and best wishes as always,
Andrew James Brown
