A note about the SONG GROUP which will meet twice this month: On August 9th after the service, we will learn a piece to sing on August 16th
Marianna writes: “I’m choosing a song to match my ‘Thought for the Day’ on the 16th, which is prompted by Capek’s Advice 5 (see below): to remain creative and active. There’s a focus on collaboration in words and music which I trust will lead to a bright conversation after the thought for the day on the 16th!”
Introduction to Self-compassion. Aysha Madha will be offering this in the church on Sunday August 23rd, 13:00 – 15:00
Aysha will be running an Introduction to Self-compassion from 1-3pm in the church. Participants will gain an idea of what self-compassion is, its 3 components, the challenges most people have with self-compassion, and how to do it safely.
Drinks and snacks will be provided and for that reason Aysha would be grateful if you could let her know if you will be attending, or email her at <events@cambridgeunitarian.org >

The trustees and minister updated the congregation about the current state of play with our planning application and set out possible ways we might move forward in light of that. As with earlier meetings, no decisions were taken at this gathering, as it was for information only. But we are now much closer to the point where some serious decisions need to be made, so it is important that over the summer period, members and attendees begin thinking deeply about what we might do. We plan to hold another meeting in September that will more formally lay out and discuss our options. We are pleased to say that a number of positive new ideas emerged from that meeting and are currently being explored. If you want to know what these are, please talk to one or more of the Trustees, namely Celia James, Sue Tombs, Jacqui Carnell and Aysha Madha.
Here are the slides we used for this presentation:
