Weekend greetings from Emmanuel Road and the weekly podcast – 25th October 2020
Greetings to you once again. I trust that all remains as well as can be expected with you all.
As always, please be in touch by replying to this email if you would like to speak with me during the week and we can arrange a suitable time to talk properly either by telephone, Zoom or by taking a socially distanced walk somewhere in and around town.
My weekly address for you can be found at the links below both as a written piece and as a podcast:

The next Wednesday Evening Zoom Conversation will take place on 4th November starting at 7.30pm. I’ll send the details out about that next weekend.
Notice about a possible ART COURSE in the Unitarian Hall . . .
One of the members of the Cambridge Unitarian Church, the artist Beverley Carpenter (here’s a link to Bev’s website <https://oblique-arts.com>), is kindly offering to run for six church members aged over 60, a six week, socially distanced Arts and Crafts event run by herself and one other artist. They are currently running a similar course for their Neuro-diverse group at the Museum of Technology. Everyone will have their own table and we all wear masks or face visors. Cup of tea and chat after. If there is enough interest it will take place between midday and 2pm, in the church hall, probably (depending on other bookings) on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
The course covers:
– Mixed Media, painting, textiles, collage and installation
– We end with an exhibition (details to be decided in consultation with the participants)
Please be in contact with Bev directly at the following email address/telephone number if you’d like to take part.

Lastly here’s a regular reminder that if, on reading this, you would like to join our Sunday morning service of mindful meditation and the time of conversation which follows then please contact our Church Secretary, Brendan Boyle, via the contact page of our website. Just look through the dropdown tabs to find “Secretary”:
<https://www.cambridgeunitarian.org/contact/>
Please log in between 9.45 and 10am. The meditation starts at 10am sharp, and finishes about 10.50. There will then be a short break to allow you to stretch your legs, compose your thoughts, or put the kettle on. The ‘Time for Conversation’ will start about 11am, and if you aren’t taking part in the meditation, feel free to sign in during the break for the conversation. To get the most from the meditation, you will find it helpful to either print out the order of service, or display it in a second window.

You might also wish to have a small candle or tea-light to hand to light at a certain point during the meditation.
If you can’t come to the live Zoom meditation, at the following link, you can download an mp3 of the service I made for you back at the beginning of lockdown. For your delectation I’ll be recording a new, higher fidelity one in the very near future:MP3 of the Service of Mindful Meditation
