A note about two events in Cambridge during Refugee Week

Aidan Baker, from “Cambridge City of Sanctuary,” writes:

Hello faith groups

Refugee Week is coming up – 17-23 June!

Here are a couple of Cambridge events in it.

1. CONFERENCE ‘LOCATION: GLOBAL’

On World Refugee Day, Thursday 20 June, the Cambridge Refugee Hub is
mounting the conference ‘Location: Global’ in the Alison Richard
Building on the Sidgwick Site, 10:00-18:00.

Conference highlights include a discussion of medical and legal
partnerships for the care of displaced populations in the UK, and an
exploration of what migrant and refugee women have achieved as artist
homemakers.

The conference is free, and further information and registration are at

https://www.humanmovement.cam.ac.uk/events/cambridge-refugee-week-2024-conference-location-global-20-june-2024

2. COMMUNITY ARTS FESTIVAL

This is on Saturday 22 June, 11:00-16:00, again in the Alison Richard
Building, a “celebration of and with those in exile”. Arts workshops,
music in workshop and performance, town trails (one of them the
‘Uncomfortable Cambridge tour’), and stalls. City of Sanctuary Faiths
Group will field a stall there, for the first three hours or so, and
we hope some reading this will pop in and say hello. More details at
