It’s completely free and you can park at the Meeting House or we’re near the train station. It’s Saturday 3rd October at 6pm in collaboration with Buddhists and some Quakers x.”

ARU Research Exhibition I 26-28 September 2026
This exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum showcases the work of a major research project, in which many members of Cambridge’s refugee community have participated. Through focus groups and creative workshops, academic and community researchers have sought to examine the barriers to inclusion faced by refugees and migrants and how these impact on health and wellbeing. Saturday’s launch will feature a reception, a performance at 1pm by Malva Ukrainian choir and a creative workshop for families. Congratulations to the Arts Theatre . . .
. . . who recently achieved Theatre of Sanctuary accreditation. This means that they go above and beyond to foster welcome, raise awareness and celebrate talent within refugee communities. The Arts Stream of Sanctuary is all about celebrating the arts organisations working with refugees, telling stories of migration and bringing communities together – all whilst encouraging more organisations to do the same.

Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign (CRRC) . . .
. . . offer us all the opportunity to campaign on behalf of refugees. They say: The current Asylum and Immigration Bill 2026 is the fifth immigration-related bill in five sessions of parliament. Among other things, it proposes to shorten refugee protection to 30 months, to have appeals tribunals heard by ‘adjudicators’ rather than qualified lawyers, and to redefine family and private life to make deportation easier. Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group (CamCRAG) are planning their autumn activities and welcome everyone to all of these:

20 October – AGM, St Andrew’s Street Baptist Church, Cambridge, 7.30pm – hear about the situation in Calais
13 November onwards – Auction of Promises. Time to start thinking about possible donations, and save the date!
21 November – Winter Ceilidh, St Giles Church, starring the fabulous Jumping Beans ceilidh band. More details to follow!
