There will be chat, music, readings and stories, and if you would like to say a few words about Sabrina or share some memories yourself, please let me know either beforehand or on the day. Janet Toye

Eleanor Toye, Janet’s daughter, writes:

“I’m sorry to bring you the sad news that Janet died peacefully in her sleep in her room at Cambridge Manor early on Monday morning. She had been in hospital for a couple of days in early December, and we were warned that she probably only had a few weeks to live. However, she rallied and seemed to be doing better after leaving hospital. Last week she was comfortable and cheerful, so we didn’t get any immediate warning – which is actually for the best, as it means she didn’t suffer at all at the end.”

As I did for her husband, John Toye (who died in December 2021), I will be conducting a very simple, private family burial for Janet at the Barton Woodland Burial Ground on the morning of Friday 14th February. However, in the early afternoon, at a time yet to be confirmed, there will be a celebration of Janet’s life at the Jesus Lane Friends’ Meeting House.

A note about Celia James’ last sandtray session on Sunday, February 9th

Celia writes:

“I shall be doing the last sandtray event in the afternoon of Sunday, February 9th; I have four names already and can take four more: max; would anyone interested please contact me directly by email at <chair@cambridgeunitarian.org>
